Is your networking event working?

April 1, 2011 by Marc Gordon divider image

Getting a bunch of people in a room and calling it a networking event is easy. But ensuring those people actually get something out of it is the real measure of success. In this episode I will show you an innovative and effective networking process that you can adapt to your own events.

A special thanks to the folks at BOSSYSTEM for letting us in on their secret. http://www.bossystem.org/

Great video Mark. This is what small and medium business people need. Andre (Golfer on the Go)

    Thanks Andre. I totally agree.

Definitely a good way to not get stuck anywhere for too long. And the small group format is a good one to get people feeling comfortable. Much less intimidating to talk to a few people in a structured setting. Haven’t seen the groups of three anywhere but have been to speed networking events that are similar.

I was there at the international networking day and tried this Triad system. I don’t agree that is a good system. Donna Messer is a lot more effective, so are what other groups are doing. It is something that a new graduate who happens to be an intrevert would find useful because he wouldn’t have much alternative. However, for a serious business person this could actually hurt their credibility and really do nothing for their business.

Thanks for the great email, Mark. The fact is that many event attendees tend to be introverts and need that structure to meet and talk to others. Is there any networking tool right for everyone?
